V. Oelrich webViola Oelrich, of Ogilvie, MN, died on Friday, March 19, 2010 at her place of residence. She was 89 years old.

FUNERAL SERVICES will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 23rd at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ogilvie.

VISITATION will be from 5:30-7:30 PM on Monday, March 22nd at Akkerman-Ingebrand Funeral Home in Mora; and also 1 hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.

INTERMENT will be at Graceland Cemetery in Ogilvie.

Viola “Vi” M. Oelrich born to Gunnar and Elin (Lanholm) Rosen on August 9, 1920 in Salem, South Dakota. Her early years were spent on farms in South Dakota. In 1937 the family moved to Minnesota; to a farm near Ogilvie. She was united in marriage to Carl Oelrich on April 2, 1949 at Mora.

Vi enjoyed cooking, and the coffee pot was always on for whoever stopped to visit. Walking through her many flower beds was always a joy. Many hours were spent playing cards and games with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Vi was a member of the Ogilvie Women’s Auxiliary and an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Viola was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Carl; brothers Clarence, Ray, Kenny, Rollie; sisters Gert, Ruby, infant Astrid; grandson Pete, grand daughter-in-law Darla Katke and niece Kathy.

She is survived by one son Mike of Ogilvie; two daughters Sandra Arnoldi of Braham and Janet (Dan) Zinn of Ham Lake; one sister Bev (Jerry) Peterson of Victorville, CA; five grandchildren Tom, Jenny, Kristy, Karl (Jennifer), Arnoldi and Jamie Hendershot; ten great-grandchildren Jordan, Rayann, Mike, Skylar, Danielle, Brett, Mackenzie, Lexie, Makiah and Brenden; nieces; nephews; the Saby family; and many friends.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 23rd at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ogilvie. Rev. Russell Stinson officiated. Donna Angermeier was the organist. Pallbearers were Jamie Hendershot, Jenny Arnoldi, Tom Arnoldi, Kristy Arnoldi, Karl Arnoldi and Jordan Arnoldi. Honorary pallbearers were Bob Peterson, Randy Peterson, Jason Spears, Terry Rosen, Rick Rosen and David Rosen. Interment was at Graceland Cemetery in Ogilvie.
