Marion V. Sandy, of St. Cloud, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the Villa Health Care Center of Mora. She was 80 years old.

Marion Virginia Kyander Helmbrecht Sandy was born December 9, 1929 at French Lake, Minnesota to parents John and Hilda (Buranen) Kyander. In 1946 Marion was married to Henry Helmbrecht. Together the couple lived in and round Mora for several years. To this union six children were born.
On May 19, 1969 Marion was united in marriage to John Charles Sandy in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Marion and John made their home in St. Cloud where she worked for the State of Minnesota as a dedicated employee until her retirement in 1987. She then began working part-time as a secretary at the Assembly of God Church under Reverend John Krans.

Marion’s life was centered around her love for her family, her faith, and her cats. The last few years of her life, Marion was house bound and was taken care of by her loving husband John, and her home was cared for by her dear friends, Karen and Betty. Her last months were spent at the Villa Health Care Center in Mora, where she reconnected with several lifelong friends. She enjoyed the women in their eighties dinning group, and the caregivers at the Villa. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Marion is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Mary Seann Helmbrecht; brothers Raymond, Eddie, Francis, and James; sisters Alice, Lila, and Mabel.
