Milton Carlson of Braham, passed away Monday, December 1, 2009 at the GracePointe Crossing West Gables of cambridge. He was 87 years old.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at the Rock Ingebrand Funeral Home of Braham with Pastor Beverly Robinson presiding.
VISTISTION will be 1 hour prior to the service at 9:00 am
A gather of friends will be held follwoing the service at the Braham Moose Lodge
Milton Stanley Carlson of Braham, passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 in Cambridge, Minnesota. He was 87 years old.
Milt was born November 4, 1922 at home in Palisade, MN to Will and Regina Carlson. He was the tenth of eleven children in the family. Milt grew up on the farm in Palisade and he attended Rat Lake School until the eighth grade. He was very proud that he never missed a single day of school. Upon leaving school, Milt helped run the family farm during WWII. A few short years later, he met and fell in love with Betty Henrichs and they married in February 1945.Their first child, Robert was born in 1948 and three years later they welcomed their second child, Duane. For most of his adult life, Milt provided for his family by being a 49er and working construction jobs as a backhoe operator. He discovered that retirement was not for him so he took a part time job as a groundskeeper at Purple Hawk Golf Course for several years.
Milt’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, playing Bingo and just wanting to go another “5” on Pull Tabs; he was always up for a good time.
Milt was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Betty, his son, Robert and several brothers and sisters and many friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his son Duane (Bonnie) Carlson of Pine City; grandson Troy Carlson; granddaughters Jennifer (Craig) Larson, Tara Carlson, Jessica (Joe) Schoeberl ; seven great – grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
