L. Peterson webLyle Peterson of Brook Park, passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at his home surrounded by his family. He was 59 years old.

A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at the United Methodist Church of Mora.

VISITATION will be from 5-8pm on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at the Akkerman Ingebrand Funeral Home and 1 hour prior to the service at church.

INURNMENT will be in the Oakwood Cemetery of Mora.

Lyle Arthur Peterson was born May 1, 1950 at Kanabec Hospital to Ellis and Ione (Radeke) Peterson. He was reared on his parents’ rural Brook Park farm, graduated from Mora High School in 1968, and graduated from Pine City Vocational Technical School in 1970 with a certificate in auto mechanics. On February 5, 1971 he was united in marriage to his first love, Cindy Lindquist. They made their home in rural Brook Park. He began his 41 year career in the automotive industry at Anderman Motors in Mora. Later he went to work for Morkan Motors, which became Gunderson Motors, and is currently Mora Chevrolet Buick. Lyle was baptized at the Mora Methodist Church on October 8, 1950, confirmed at the Brook Park United Methodist Church, and was presently a member of the Mora United Methodist Church. Lyle enjoyed being out in and a part of nature by feeding and watching birds, gardening, planting and nurturing trees, hunting, and farming. He took great delight in family gatherings.

Lyle, a life-long resident of rural Brook Park, died on November 28, 2009 at the age of 59 years, 5 months and 27 days. He died peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family, after a heroic battle against pancreatic cancer.

He was preceded in death by his father Ellis, infant brother Gary; grandparents Oscar and Alma Peterson and Arthur “A.W.” and Ethel Radeke; special friend Warren Nolt.

Lyle is survived by his beloved wife Cindy of Brook Park; children Adam (Kelli) Peterson of Brook Park, Amy (Ryan) Witte of North Branch, and Nate (Melissa) Peterson of Brook Park; seven grandchildren Breanna, Kayla, Derrick, Dylan, Tysonn, Tayven and Taliah; mother Ione Peterson of Brook Park; siblings Dennis (Lois) Peterson of Brook Park, Lynn (Butch) Lewellin of Byron, WI and Kaye (David) Carda of Ogilvie; nieces and nephews Tammy, Scott, Cory, Leah, Jeremy and Kyle; plus many, many other family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 3rd at the Mora United Methodist Church with Rev. Dennis Buckley, Chaplain Butch Lewellin and Rev. Charles Lindquist officiating. Urn Bearers will be Adam Peterson and Nate Peterson. Honorary Urn Bearers are Curt Radeke, Duane Radeke, Mike Erickson, Howard Oslin, John Chapel and Brad Gunderson. Inurnment was at Oakwood Cemetery in Mora.

  6. I never knew Lyle, but my Dad, Dave, did. Always had good things to say about him.
    May your family find comfort in knowing that Lyle is in a better place…..probably talking with my Dad!
