Warner B. Neumann, of Mora, died on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009. He was 93 years old.
FUNERAL MASS will be at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, October 7th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mora.
VISITATION will be from 5:00-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 6th at Akkerman-Ingebrand Funeral Home in Mora, plus 1 hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.
INTERMENT will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Warner Bernard Neumann was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years Eleanor; brothers Alfred, Wallace, Leo and Alvin; sisters Irene Mallinson (Ray) and Marcella Welter (August); and one great grandson.
Warner is survived by one sister LaVerne Belquist; sons James, Steven and Mark; daughters Sharen Kaatz (Edwin), Carol Skluzacek (John), Maryann Olson and Margaret Barker (Laren); 23 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; 5 step great grandchildren and 7 step great-great grandchildren
He was born on March 10, 1916 in Richfield, MN to August and Mary (Ruppert) Neumann. He was united in marriage to Eleanor Spear November 1933 in Hudson, WI. They lived in Bloomington until 1944 when they moved to their first farm in Comfort Township, Kanabec County, MN to raise their family. They remained there until 1965. After a short retirement they moved to another farm where they farmed until 1994 when they moved into Mora.
Warner enjoyed repairing and restoring motorcycles, tractors, Model A’s and making “bugs” – (predecessors to ATV’s).
Warner’s life was celebrated on October 7th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mora. Fr. Eugene Plaisted and Rita Clasemann officiated. Music was provided by Patty Paul and St. Mary’s Choir Members. Pallbearers were Warner’s grandsons Joseph Skluzacek, Jason Skluzacek, Daniel Olson, Andrew Neumann, Keith Kaatz and Michael Barker. Interment was at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Mora.
