ROBERT P. EVENSON, of rural Braham, died on Sunday, Sept. 6 at home at the age of 82.
FUNERAL SERVICES will be held on Thursday, Sept. 10, at 11:00 am. at Braham Ev. Lutheran Church with Rev. Richard Chronis officiating.
VISITATION will be held on Wednesday, from 5-7 pm. at Rock-Ingebrand Funeral Home and 1 hr. prior to the service on Thursday at the church.
INTERMENT will be at the Rice Lake Cemetery of Braham, MN
Robert Peter Evenson passed away at home on September 6, 2009. He was 82 years old.
Robert was born November 26, 1926 in Braham, Minnesota to Casper and Leona Evenson. Growing up he enjoyed farming and began working at the local creamery after the eighth grade. At the age of 17 Robert joined the army during WWII. He was discharged December 9, 1946.
Robert and Lorraine Palmer married June 2, 1951 and lived in Minneapolis for several years when they then moved back to Braham to raise a family. They had 4 children: Sherrie, Denise, Shawn and Shane.
Robert was employed by the city of Braham where he managed Braham Liquor. After retirement he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening, wood carving, fishing and hunting. Robert will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Lois Danger, his brother James Evenson and his wife Lorraine.
Robert is survived by his four children, Sherrie Evenson of Mora, Denise Evenson (Tami Huffman) of Duluth, Shawn Evenson of Hermantown, and Shane Evenson (Clint Miller) of Spooner, WI ; his brothers Kenny (Ellen) Evenson of Braham, Rollie (Earleen) Evenson of Champlin; his sisters Joyce Johnson of Minnetonka, Phyllis (Don) Ledin of Isle, and Delores (Len) Glaser of Santa Clara, CA; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A Funeral Service was held on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at Braham Evangelical Lutheran Church of Braham with Rev. Rich Chronis presiding. Music was provided by Ruth Grundyson and Jon Scheele. Casket Bearers were Douglas Lind, Jim Kelling, James Lind, Terry Lind, Terry Larson, and Mike Kunst. Military Honors were provided by the Braham VFW Post #1731. Interment was in the Rice Lake Cemetery of Braham.
