Pat Marohn, of Milaca, formerly of Mora, died on August 29, 2009 at St. Cloud Hospital. She was 60 years old.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at the Akkerman Ingebrand Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Larson presiding.
VISITATION will be 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Patricia Anne (Thiede) Marohn was born on June 11, 1949 in Esterville, Iowa to Robert and Beatrice (Winning) Thiede. She grew up with 5 siblings in Stark, Minnesota. She attended school in Rush City, Minnesota and graduated in 1967. After high school, Patricia attended nursing school in Redwing. Patricia met her husband Stan at the American Legion in North Branch, Minnesota. They were married in 1970 at the Lutheran church in Stacy, Minnesota. Stan and Pat had two children, Eric and Lisa. In 1972 the family moved to Adak, Alaska for two years where Stan served in the Navy Seabees. They then moved to Oakland, California for two years before returning to Minnesota.
Patricia worked as a nurse and most recently was self-employed, selling jewelry on the internet. Her two favorite hobbies were gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking and crafts.
Patricia was a giving person in life putting others before herself. Her final gift was as an organ donor. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her father Robert Thiede and brother Kurt Steinhauer. Pat is survived by her mother Beatrice Thiede of North Branch; husband Stan Marohn of Milaca; son Eric and wife Marlene of Mora; daughter Lisa and husband Blayne Puklich of Chanhassen; grandchildren Grace, Sam, Owen, Elizabeth, Iris, Tavie, Kira, and Finnegan; brothers Mike Thiede and wife Joanne, Bill Thiede and wife Lois, Rob Thiede and wife Diana; sisters Diane Austin, and Linda Peterson and husband Dale; and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service held on Wednesday, September 2 at Akkerman-Ingebrand Funeral Home in Mora. Rev. Douglas Larson officiated. Final disposition by cremation.
