Jon Peter Anderson, of Isle, formerly of Grasston, passed away unexpectedly at his home on August 2, 2009. He was 55 years old.
Jon was born, the youngest of nine children, to Carl and Alice (Carlson) Anderson of Grasston, MN. Jon grew up on the family farm west of Grasston and attended Grasston and Braham schools. He was Baptized and Confirmed at Hope Lutheran Church of Grasston. Jon married Diane Erbstoesser of Braham and to this union one son was born. They lived in the local area until moving to Oklahoma in the late 70s. Jon became a stone mason while living in Oklahoma. He left his talented craftsmanship in many homes and businesses there.
Jon lived in Kansas City for a few years. After losing both his mother and brother in the early 90s, Jon moved back to Isle to be closer to his family because they were very important to him. Upon settling in Isle, he began a new career doing road construction. He was a Union member for several years. Seasonal work was perfect for Jonny because he hated the cold – unless he was going ice fishing, which was his favorite pastime. Although fishing was his favorite, he always kept himself busy with numerous projects – unless he busy giving piggy back rides or having picnics with his granddaughters. He did side work as a stone mason and always thought there was something that was worth fixing. He also loved to visit with his many friends and family. Jon will be truly missed by all who loved him.
Jon was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Alice Anderson, sister Carol Bemis and his brothers Burton, Raymond and Neal.
Jon is survived by his son, Chad and his wife, Jolene and granddaughters; Sydney and Lilly of Stanchfield; sisters Karen (Jerry) Hearnen of Fargo, ND, Patty (Mike) Just of Rush City; brothers Jack (Kathryn) of Braham and Roger (Joanne) Anderson of Braham; brother in law Lynn (Betty) Bemis of Shakopee and sister in law Carla Anderson and her daughters Julie and Jenny of Isle. Many nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
