Marjorie (Marge) A. Voge was born February 23, 1922 at home in Eureka Township, Polk County, Wisconsin to George and Cora (Burch) Brown. She was the second of six siblings. As a young girl she moved to the Anoka area and worked as a nanny and later at Honeywell. She married Roy H. Voge on June 10, 1944 at her parents’ farm in Wisconsin and they made their home at the Voge family farm in Hillman Township north of Mora for over 38 years. In 1979 they moved into a home in town where Marge, widowed in 1982, remained until 2000. For the next nine years, she was a resident at the Dala House apartments in Mora where she made many fast friends. She faced health issues in her last seven months at the Villa with a little each of spunk and grace. She left a legacy of moving forward with no bitterness.
Marge was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Mora where she served on many committees. Her hobbies and interests included gardening, cooking, sewing, embroidery, camping and traveling. Besides being a homemaker and a wonderful caregiver, she was active in 4-H as a leader, did charity drives in her community and participated in many community events with life-long friends in Hillman Township. In her retirement years she worked at several Mora retailers and was also Mora Food Shelf coordinator for over 19 years. She was proud to claim her family as one of her greatest accomplishments.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; daughter, Virginia Pollema; her parents; and two sisters, Luella and Marilyn. She is survived by children: Ralph (Connie) Voge; Julie (Jerry) Hawkins; and Dale (Karla) Voge, all of Mora; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and a host of friends.
