Audrey Lucille Thom, of Cambridge, formerly of St. Paul, Mora and Braham, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at the GracePointe Crossing West Gables of Cambridge. She was 84 years old.

Audrey was born on June 24, 1924 in St. Paul, Minnesota to parents Clyde & Magdeline Parriot. She attended and graduated from St. Paul schools and went to work for the University of Minnesota as a bookkeeper for the Agriculture Department.

On September 16, 1950, Audrey was united in marriage to Dr. Leroy W. Thom in St. Paul, Minnesota. Together they moved to Cambridge where they raised their family and Leroy began his veterinarian practice with Audrey’s help. The family moved to Mora where they lived for 12 years before settling in Braham. After their retirement, Audrey and Leroy loved to travel, going to Europe and Alaska, and wintering in Arizona. After Leroy passed away in 1995, Audrey moved back to Cambridge where she continued to reside until her passing.

Audrey was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Braham Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was active in many of the women’s groups, and greatly enjoyed Bible studies. Audrey loved her quilting and sewing group and she also enjoyed golfing and bowling. But most of all she loved her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Audrey is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leroy, their infant son, and brother Wayne Parriot.

She is survived by her sons Michael (Nancy) Thom of Cambridge, and David Thom of St. Paul; daughter Leanne Thom of St. Paul; grandchildren Angela Thom and Jonathan (Kari) Thom; great grandson Reichen Thom; sisters Carol (Chuck) Reed of Arkansas, and Blythe (Roy) Thompson of Roseville; sisters-in-law Vee Parriot of Roseville, June (Ray) Ailts of Rushmore, and Lucille Thom of Windom; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Linda and I are very sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. She was a very gracious and a very good and generous person. The three years I worked with your dad and Linda and I lived in Braham were three of the best years of our lives and your dad and mom were the main reason. God bless you and your mom’s memory.
