Rose Haupt died on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at the Villa Health Care Center in Mora. She was 77 years old.
FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, April 27th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mora. VISITATION will be one hour to the service on Monday at the church. INTERMENT will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Mora.
Rose Marie Sagen Haupt was born on January 1, 1932 on a small farm near Edmore, North Dakota to Thomas and Blanche (Milligan) Sagen. She attended 1st grade and part of the 2nd grade in a small country school located on one corner of the family farm. In October 1939 the family moved to Edmore where she attended the rest of her schooling; graduating from the 8th grade in 1946 and high school in 1950. After graduation she babysat for 5 years and worked in a grocery store for a short period of that time. She worked at the Citizen State Bank in Edmore for 5 more years; then moved to Devils Lake, North Dakota and worked for Behm’s Propane for another 5 years. This is where she met Philip Haupt. Rose Marie and Philip were married on October 28, 1961 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Devils Lake. October 1965 they moved to Minnesota and bought a small farm east of Knife Lake. November 1973 they sold the farm and bought a new home east of Fish Lake. Rose worked for Gorham Northwest LP Gas Company for about 28 years until 1993 when she developed double vision and wasn’t able to work anymore. Philip died in 1999. In 2001 she sold the house and moved into Woodcrest Manor Apts. in Mora. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church since 1988.
Rose Marie was preceded in death by her husband Philip; her parents Thomas and Blanche; and one brother Ernest.
She is survived by sisters-in-law Leoda Cole of Mora, Marion (Joe) Whiteford of Williston ND, Angie Haupt of Billings, MT, Sally Haupt of Auburn WA,; brothers-in-law Ben Haupt of Williston, ND, Frank Haupt of Mandan ND and Don (Rowena) Haupt of Auburn WA; uncle Ellsworth Milligan of FL; many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
