m-lindquist-web.jpgMargaret Lindquist died on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at the Villa Health Care Center in Mora. She was 90 years old.

FUNERAL SERVICES will be at 11:00 A.M on Saturday, March 14th at Stanchfield Baptist Church in Stanchfield. VISITATION will be 1 hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Interment will be at Stanchfield Baptist Cemetery at a later date.

Margaret Anna Elizabeth Lindquist of Mora, MN went home to be with the Lord on March 10, 2009 at the Villa Health Care Center. She was 90 years old.

Margaret was born at home in Duluth, Minnesota on May 15, 1918 to Oscar and Delilah (Bergstrom) Peterson. She lived in Duluth until the age of 12, when the family moved to Stanchfield. She attended District 10 in Stanchfield and also a year in Duluth where she completed 8th grade. After working several years in Minneapolis, she met Thomas Lindquist of Ogilvie and they were married August 31, 1948 on the family farm. Margaret was a member of Stanchfield Baptist Church for over 50 years, being active in many capacities with children as well as other church organizations. She was instrumental in organizing the Association for Retarded Citizens in the local counties as well as Industries Inc. and Brighter Day. She was honored as Senior Citizen of the year for Kanabec Co in 1991. She loved spending time with her family, doing crafts and baking, especially her rye bread.

Margaret was a wonderful wife and mother. Her caring spirit will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers Robert Peterson and Kenneth Peterson.

She is survived by her husband Tom Lindquist and daughters Susan (Don) Malafa of Coon Rapids, Jane Lindquist of Mora; sister Helen Anderson of Cambridge; brothers Kermit (Lois) Peterson of Milliken, Colorado and Oscar Peterson of Hopkins; God-daughter Sara McIalwain of Ogilvie; many special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services held on Saturday, March 14th at Stanchfield Baptist Chruch. Rev. Dale Cope officiating. Music provided by Lawrence Olson, Janette Benzen and Pam Theline. Pallbearers are Daryl Peterson, Duane Peterson, Denton Peterson, Kent Peterson, Kevin Peterson and Bruce Peterson. Inurnment will be held in the spring at Stanchfield Baptist Cemetery.
