WILLARD LUCIER

w-lucier-webphoto.jpgWillard Joseph Lucier, of Bradley, Illinois, formerly of Cambridge and Mora, died on February 24, 2009. He was 94 years old.

FUNERAL SERVICES will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 7th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mora. Fr. Eugene Plaisted will officiate. VISITATION will be from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, March 6th with a Prayer Service held at 7:30 PM at Akkerman-Ingebrand Chapel in Mora, plus visitation one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. INTERMENT will be at Grasston Union Cemetery in Grasston, MN.

Willard J. Lucier passed away on Feb 24th at the Bradley Royale Nursing Home in Bradley IL.

He is preceded in death by his loving wives Luella Lindquist and Merle Taylor, his parents Ann and Arthur Lucier and brothers Raymond and Arthur.

He is survived by his wife Virginia Lucier, his daughters Janice (Mike) Jader of Duluth, MN and Carol (David) Smith of Golden Valley, MN and grandchildren Jeff (Hillery) Shay, John (Cathy) Shay, Michael Jr. (Allison) Jader, Michelle Jader; Jacquelyn Smith, Douglas (Claudia) Smith, Davey Smith, and ten great grandchildren.

Willard was born in Minneapolis on June 11, 1914. He owned Bill and Whitey’s Texaco on 45th and Lyndale in North Mpls in the 40’s-50’s, then opened Cambridge Bowling Center in the 60’s -70’s. He was an honest businessman and mentor for many young people. He retired in Mora MN with wife Luella and traveled extensively. Willard’s generosity and warm heart left many wonderful memories for all who knew him, he will be missed greatly.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March, 7, 2009 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Mora. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 6th from 5-8pm with a 7:30pm prayer service at Akkerman- Ingebrand Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Grasston Union Cemetery, Grasston, MN.
