FUNERAL SERVICES will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 2nd at Calvary Lutheran Church in Mora. VISITATION will be from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Monday, Dec. 1 at the funeral home, plus 1 hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. INTERMENT will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Mora.

Marvin A. Dresler, of Mora, passed away peacefully in his sleep, on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at his home. He was 73 years old.
Marvin was born in Island Lake Township in Lyons County, MN to Elvira (Hohn) Dresler on November 21, 1935. His father George Dresler died just three weeks before Marvin was born. His mother later married John Steiner and Marvin became big brother to five siblings. Marvin and his family moved to the Mora area when he was just a small boy, and lived on a farm.
Marvin was married on July 2, 1955 to Wanda Peterson and together they had two daughters.
Marvin worked as a welder for eight years and then bought his first farm. He continued to weld both locally and in the twin cities area so he could afford to farm (you farmers understand). He was finally able to farm full time by the time he was 45 years old.
Marvin loved hunting and fishing. He especially liked the Canadian fishing trips and the hunting trips to Colorado. In his later years, he enjoyed gardening. He would can the produce and make jelly. He also made many different kinds of sausage, which he loved to give away. His favorite haunts were the East Central Sales Barn and the Grasston Feed Mill.
His greatest joy was his family, his children who blessed him with grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be deeply missed.
Marvin is preceded in death by his parents George Dresler and Elvira (Dresler Steiner) Schwantke, brothers Frank Steiner and Mitchell Steiner.
Marvin is survived by his wife Wanda, daughters Debra (Ron) Samuelson of Sandstone, and Becky (Ron) Bradehoft of Mora; brother Gary (Karen) Steiner of Brook Park; sisters Barbara Steiner of Mora, and Beverly (Art) Huebner of Braham; grandchildren Laura (Eric) Schaefer, Gina Samuelson, Sirena Samuelson, and Sianna Racho; great grandchildren Amelia and Gwendolyn Schaefer; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at the Calvary Lutheran Church of Mora with Pastor Dave Dwyer presiding. Music was provided by Julie Cavallin and Deb Menze. Casket bearers were Duane Altman, Robert Johnstone, John Roemhild, Ron Bradehoft, Ron Samuelson, Greg Skramstad, Jeff Skramstad, and Eric Schaefer. Honorary Casket bearers were Art Huebner, Gary Steiner, Dick Johnstone, Roman Miller, Alvis Ovik, and Harold Skramstad. Interment was in the Oakwood Cemetery of Mora.

    I am unable to attend Uncle Marvin’s services, however, wanted to let you know you are in my thoughts and prayers And also on a side note, Uncle Marvin leaves memories for me as a small child of the most impressive piggies I have ever wanted to befriend and it makes me smile!!
