Scott Raymond Wellnitz died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008, as a result of a automobile accident. He was 51 years old.

FUNERAL SERVICES will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday Nov. 8, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kroschel (3295 Velvet St. Hinckley, MN 55037 – which is 8 miles west and 4 miles north of Hinckley, on Kanabec Cty. 20. VISITATION will be Friday, Nov. 7 from 5 to 8 PM at Akkerman – Ingebrand Chapel and 1 hour prior to the service at the church. INURNMENT will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Mora.

Scott Raymond Wellnitz of Mora Minnesota died Nov. 4th 2008, at the age of 51. Scott was born to Robert and Evelyn (Jueneman) Wellnitz on July 2nd 1957. His family then moved to the Hinckley area.

Scott was confirmed at St. Johns Church in Kroshel MN. He attended Hinckley school and Standstone high where he graduated. After high school, Scott had an array of different jobs; then in 1977 he started at Amoco Plastics, where he met and dated Rosella (Zelly) Petersen. They were married on Nov, 18th 1978 where they settled in the rural area around Mora. After 20 years at Amoco, he left, and got a job with Endex International. While with Endex he traveled around the world and dealt with people of all forms.
He enjoyed in his free-time to spend with his wife and children. When not spending time with his family, he loved to fish, hunt, and watch NFL football (Go Pack Go). He got to hunt in Alaska, Nebraska, and Canada with his son and family and friends. He also, got to fish all around the world: South America, Canada, and around Minnesota including Millie Lac and Knife Lake. Scott really enjoyed sitting outside with his wife, watching the world go by, and discussing the upcoming the football game. However, his wife was a Minnesota Viking fan and consequently; they never watched a football game together, because they never could agree on who was going to win the game. He will be missed by all who knew him and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his mother-in-law and father-in-law Bernice and Gordon Petersen.
Scott is survived by his wife Zelly of Mora; children Kim of Mora and Seth of Duluth; his brothers Robert (Brenda) Wellnitz of Sandstone and Craig (Aarika) Wellnitz of Junction City Kansas; his sisters Betty (Gary) Volk, Sandra (Kenneth) Olson of Sandstone and Judy (Denny) Coveau of Danbury Wisconsin; and brother and sister-in-law Roxanne and Steve Norman of Minneapolis; plus many nieces and nephews, and friends.
Memorial Service held on Saturday, Nov. 8th at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kroschel, MN. Rev. Michael Breach officiated. Music was provided by Katie Williams and Mike Nelson. Honorary pallbearers were Wally Joos, Craig Wellnitz, Robert Wellnitz, Ben Klaers, Michael Klaers, Danny Coveau, Kenny Olson, Dan Desimone and Jay Wessels. Inurnment at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery in Mora.
