EARL J. WELLS SR.

FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at the Stanchfield Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Cope presiding. VISITATION will be from 4-6pm on Tuesday, October 28th at the Rock Ingebrand Funeral home of Braham. INTERMENT will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis at 2:15pm on Wednesday.

Earl James Wells Sr., of Osakis, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at his son’s home in Grasston. He was 69 years old.

Earl was born on April 22, 1939 in Sanborn, Minnesota to parents Carl and Laura (Shiffman) Wells. He was one of four sons who grew up on the farm and attended school in Lamerton, Minnesota. Earl enlisted in the army at the age of 17 and served his county for the next three years. In 1957, Earl met Marjorie Neyens and in 1959 they were united in marriage in Worthington, Mn. After his discharge from the Army, Earl began his life long career as a painter with B&B Adcrafters. He painted houses, commercial building, water towers, Camp Snoopy at the Mall of America, and many area’s of Valleyfair amusement park. Even after his retirement he continued to paint anything that could be painted.

Earl loved to fish. He would fish anywhere he could drop a lure. He would travel to Texas in the winter with his brother to fish until it would become warm enough in Minnesota to return to fishing. Earl also loved to spend time in the fall deer hunting. In his earlier years he and his brothers would go camping and fishing all over Minnesota. Earl also loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Earl will be deeply missed by his many family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Marjorie.

Earl is survived by his children: Earl Jr. (Sandra) Wells of Grasston, Ricky (Cindy) Wells of East Bethel, Andrea (Steven) Wood of Minneapolis, Richard Wells of Foreston, Elwood Wells of Foreston; special friend Diane Maloney of Osakis; 3 brothers Carl (Laura) Wells of Osakis, George (JoAnn) Wells of Ulen, and Gary (Gail) Wells of Hinckley; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.

Funeral Services were held, Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at Stanchfield Baptist Church. Rev. Dale Cope officiated the service. Music was provided by Pam Theline. Pallbearers were: Ray Rutten, Ronald Johnson, Dallas Triebenbach, Robert Johnson, Patrick Wood, and Greg Wells. Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Arrangements were handled by the Rock-Ingebrand Funeral Home in Braham.
