She attended Country School in Ogilvie and was confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. As a young woman, Lois lived in Minneapolis and worked at Old Dutch Potato Chip Factory. Upon his discharge, the family remained in Mora where all 5 of their children were raised. During those years, they enjoyed playing cards on Friday nights with her sister and brother in law, Doris and Roy O’Dell. Her brother in law, Fordyce Johnson, taught Lois to drive when she was in her 30s. Warren and Lois also enjoyed their travels to California and Arizona.
Lois worked as a Nurse’s Aide at Kanabec Hospital for 30 years before retiring in 2004. She loved her work as a Nurse’s Aide and her patients and the staff loved her in return. She loved to garden and nurture her flowers. She enjoyed walking around town with her daughter, Marilyn. She liked to watch baseball and football on TV, especially the Minnesota Vikings. She enjoyed baking, canning, reading and family gatherings. Lois was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She will be missed by all who knew her.
