WYATT ELDEAN HANSEN

w-hansen.jpgWyatt Hansen, age 70, of Ogilvie, formerly of St. Paul and Lake Elmo, died on Saturday July 26, 2008 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

FUNERAL SERVICE will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at the Akkerman Ingebrand Funeral home of Mora with Pastor Bob DeYoung officiating. VISITATION will be from 5-7 pm on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at the funeral chapel. INTERMENT will be in the Fish Lake Cemetery of Mora.

Wyatt Eldean Hansen, of Ogilvie, Minnesota, died on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Mpls., at the age of 70 years old.

Wyatt was born in Beresford, South Dakota on May 19, 1938 to Lyman and Margaret (Murphy) Hansen. In 1940 the family moved to Maple Ridge Township in Isanti County, Minnesota; then in 1950 the family moved to a farm near Siola Lutheran Church.

Wyatt was confirmed at the Braham Evangelical Church and attended Braham High School. He joined the U.S. Army in 1960. After Basic Training in Fort Leonard, MO he served his tour of duty in France. October 24, 1964 Wyatt married Waneta Beesaw of Ogilvie, Minnesota at the Ogilvie Methodist Church.

He worked in the construction business before moving to Ogilvie in 1974 and then started his own blacktop, backhoe and house moving business.

Wyatt’s hobbies included his many collectibles, camping, motorcycling and traveling. Some of his favorite places to go to were the Black Hills, South Dakota, Branson, Missouri and Nashville, Tennessee. In the later years he enjoyed reading, and many small road trips around the countryside.

Wyatt will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law William Davis; and nephew Darwin Larson.

Wyatt is survived by his wife Waneta of Ogilvie; son and daughter-in-law Dean and Laura Hansen, and grandchildren Keenan, Kaitlin and Kallie Hansen all of Ogilvie; sisters Phyllis (Wally) Larson of Mora, Robin Davis of Odenville, AL, Barbara (Dan) Stevens of Mora and Marian Mattson of Isanti; plus many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 30th at Akkerman-Ingebrand Funeral Home in Mora. Rev. Robert DeYoung officiated and provided music. Pallbearers were Mike Bergren, Dennis Bohnen, Larry Beets, Jim Olson, Bill Groth and Steve Stromberg. The Mora American Legion Post 201 provided Military Honors. Interment was at Fish Lake Cemetery in rural Mora.
