Alan John Stromberg of Milaca passed away on July 11, 2008 at the Fairview Northland Regional Hospital in Princeton. He was 58 years old.

Alan Stromberg was born on January 25, 1950 to Ernie and Ruth (Maurud) Stromberg of Dalbo. That year there was so much snow that Ruth had to walk through deep drifts down the driveway to meet Grandpa John Stromberg for the trip to the Princeton Hospital. He was able to get down his driveway with his ’48 Studebaker truck and get her safely to the hospital. Ernie was in the middle of morning chores and had to finish milking their cows.
Alan was one of the first clients to attend the Mora Brighter Day DAC when it first opened in about 1970. He worked in Mora for about twenty years. Then he worked at the Cambridge DAC for a number of years and more recently at the Milaca DAC when he moved to the Care Force inc. group home. Up until the move to Milaca, Alan was able to live at home with his mom.
Alan enjoyed “Gilligan’s Island”, “Wheel of Fortune”, “Happy Days”, “the Fonz” and motorcycles. He loved to buy and collect travel mugs. Alan’s favorite outing was to have a hamburger, french fries, and Coca-ColaLarge! He could do a really good imitation of “Curly” from “The Three Stooges”.
Alan was a very special, gentle soul and will be deeply missed by his family, housemates, care givers, and many friends. We all have treasured memories of him.

Alan was preceded in death by his grandparents John and Hilma Stromberg, and John and Ida Maurud; parents Ernie and Ruth Stromberg.
He is survived by his brother Arnie (Elsie) Stromberg, sisters Faye (Bucky) Erickson, and Bonnie (Gabe) Linder all of Dalbo, MN. Alan is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
We love you Bud!
