Lenora R. Solstad of Mora, died Saturday, May 24, 2008 at home in Mora. She was 78 years old.

MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, May 30th at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brunswick. There will be NO VISITATION prior to the service. Interment will be at a later date in Red Wing, MN.

Lenora Rose Solstad died on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at her home in rural Mora, Minnesota. She was 78 years old.

Lenora was born to John and Lydia (Liebeg) Jagusch in Goodhue County, Minnesota on June 7, 1929. She graduated from Red Wing High School in 1947. She was united in marriage to Irving S. Solstad on October 7, 1950 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Red Wing, Minnesota. In 1952 they moved to Montana and lived in Glendive, Red Lodge and Billings. In 1956 they settled in Absarokee, Montana where they owned and operated the Gambles Hardware Store for 30 years. After selling the Gambles Store, she ran a Scandinavian Gift Shop out of their home for a few years.

Lenora enjoyed many volunteer/social activities such as VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Bible Studies, Girl Scouts, School, Lutheran Brotherhood (Thrivent). She always enjoyed traveling and visiting with relatives. Lenora and Irving danced with a Scandinavian group for 25 years and participated in the Festival of Nations in Red Lodge, MT. She was also a member of Immanuel Lutheran Churches in both Absarokee, MT and Brunswick, MN.

Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, embroidering, and almost any crafty type things, reading and listening to books on tape. For many years she worked on her genealogy and enjoyed finding new relatives and other information.

In 1996 Lenora and Irving moved back to Minnesota, first living in Eagan for a year and then moving to Mora. Irving passed away in 1998.

Lenora is preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters and brother.

She is survived by three daughters Dwayla (Arnold) Lamb of Highland, Indiana, Nancy (John) Ruppert of Eagan, and Karin (John) Fremont of Mora; six grandchildren; and other relatives.

A Memorial Service held on Friday, May 30th at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brunswick, Minnesota. Rev. Lori Blake officiated. Music provided by Marianne Santel. Honorary pallbearers are Lenora’s grandchildren Rebekah Lamb, Stephanie Lamb, Cody Fremont, Savanna Fremont, Jacob Fremont and Kaleigh Fremont. Interment will be at a later date at St. John’s Cemetery in Red Wing, Minnesota.

    Lee was a dear friend. She will be missed and remembered by all of us who know her. I am sure Irve was waiting and glad to see her again.

  2. Dwayla and Family, I remember spending time at your house in Absarokee during our high school years, and being your friend. I always loved the Norwegian dress Lenora wore at the Red Lodge Festival of Nations. I am sorry to hear of Lenora’s passing, she is in good hands with our Lord and Savior. Your family were dear friends.

    I`m writing to you because we often tak about you and we wonder how you are?
    We would like to hear from you, though there are many years since we met.
    We know at your parents have passed by. My mother, Agnes passed by in 2001 and aunt Olava died after a stroke last summer.
    We hope you all are well.
