RICHARD MATTSON

r-mattson-web-photo.jpgRichard “Dick” Mattson, of Cambridge, formerly of Mora, died on April 8th at Cambridge Health Care Center. He was 69 years old.

MEMORIAL SERVICE will be at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, April 14th at Akkerman-Ingebrand Chapel in Mora. VISITATION will be 1 hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to the American Cancer Society.

Richard “Dick” Dale Mattson was born December 24, 1938 in Braham, Minnesota to Alfred and Alice (Hirsch) Mattson. He grew up in Mora, the youngest of four siblings, and attended Mora schools through graduation in 1956. After high school he married classmate Rosalie Fridstrom on July 9, 1960 and from that union two children were born. Dick lived and worked in Mora or surrounding East Central Minnesota his entire adult life. He worked most extensively in livestock sales for Dubuque Packing, Besser and Groth. He also worked for Barton Construction and Hentges Sod Farms. He loved animals and had a passion for auto racing, especially NASCAR. He enjoyed his children and grandchildren and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Beverly Nikodym.

Dick is survived by his sons, Steve (and Karlyn) and Scott (and Gail); grandsons Davis, Bennett, Cole and Clint; brothers Howard (and Katie) and Warren (and Mary), many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    You have my deepest sympathy. I was a class mate of Dick’s and really enjoyed his smile and visiting with him. I graduated with him in 1956. That was a great class. We will really miss Dick.
