w-graber.jpgWesley E. Graber, of Brook Park, MN died March 29, 2008 at the Villa Health Care Center in Mora. He was 85 years old.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM, TUESDAY, April 1, 2008 at Zion Lutheran Church in Mora. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM, Monday, March 31, 2008 at the Akkerman-Ingebrand Funeral Chapel in Mora. There will also be visitation 1 hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Mora.


Wesley Ernest Graber died March 29, 2008 at the Villa Health Care Center in Mora. He was 85 years old.

Wesley was born May 21, 1922 in Pomroy Township, Kanabec County, MN to Otto and Mabel (Wenholz) Graber. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kroschel, MN. He attended country school until the eighth grade.

Wesley was united in marriage to Dorothy Piescher on August 31, 1946. They made their home at the farm in Pomroy Township and lived there for 61 years. Wes and Dorothy raised their 6 children here and took great pride in their family and the farm.

In addition to farming, Wes worked construction for the first few years of his work life. He then worked as a heavy equipment operator for Kanabec County for 34 years, retiring as a foreman.

Wes enjoyed ice fishing, farming, and the outdoors. He was also a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Mora for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto & Mabel Graber; brothers-in-law, Elmer Davis, Clarence Wolford and Louie Piescher; sister-in-law, Nadine Wolford.

Wesley is survived by his wife, Dorothy of 61 years; children, Arden (Karen) Graber of Hugo, Glen Graber of Brook Park, Daniel (Dolores) Graber of Brook Park, Mark (Sandra) Graber of Brook Park, Martha (James) Pitt of East Bethel and Kristine (Tom) Bjornson of Onamia; brother, Alden (Marion) Graber of Brook Park; sister-in-law, Marie Davis of Mora; aunt, Pauline Anderson of Minneapolis; 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Villa Health Care Center for the loving care they’ve given to Wesley.
