Evelyn C. Strelow of Isanti, died Friday, February 8, 2008 at the Cambridge Medical Center. She was 90 years old.
A Memorial Service will be held 11 AM, Saturday, February 16, 2008 at the Stanchfield Baptist Church in Stanchfield, MN. Family and friends are welcome to gather 1 hour prior to the service at church. Inurnment will be at Stanchfield Baptist Cemetery.
Evelyn Caroline Strelow died February 8, 2008 at the age of 90 years, 7 months, 11 days.
She was born June 19, 1917 in Minneapolis to John Albert and Marie (Lindquist) Swanson. Her family lived in Minneapolis for six years before moving to California and then to Grandy, MN where they farmed.
On November 10, 1937 Evelyn married Milton Strelow. They made their home on the Strelow farm east of Braham. They moved to farms in Pine City and Elm Park, and continued farming with each move. Later, Evelyn and Milton moved to Pine Village in Cambridge. After Milton passed away in 1998, Evelyn remained at Pine Village. She spent the last year of her life at Solbakken Assisted Living in rural Isanti.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Milton; her parents; and sister, Mildred Peterson.
She is survived by 3 sons: Dennis and wife, Sharon Strelow of Stanchfield, Thomas and wife, Mary Strelow of Oak Grove, and Douglas Strelow and Kimberly Nagadancez of St. Paul; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 step-granddaughters; 3 step-great-grandchildren; and sister, Sylvia Vaughan of North Branch.
