Elaine Lucht age 76 of Pine City, formerly of Grasston, died Friday Dec. 7, 2007 at Grandview Christian Home in Cambridge. MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Pine City (825 Golf Ave. Pine City) VISITATION will be Friday Dec. 14, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Rock – Ingebrand Chapel in Braham. Inurnment at Grasston Union Cemetery following the luncheon. Memorials are preferred to the Gilbert and Elaine Lucht Scholarship Fund.
Elaine Violet Lucht, age 76, of Pine City, MN, formerly of Grasston, passed away on Friday, December 7, 2007 at Grandview Christian Home after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Elaine was born January 28, 1931 at Pine City Hospital, in the midst of a blizzard, to Axel and Nina Holmstrom. Elaine’s fondest memories of her childhood included spending time outside with her father, hunting, fishing and taking care of the animals.
Elaine graduated from Pine City High School in 1948. In 1955 she was united in marriage to Darrell Glidden and raised eight children.
She went to work as Coordinator of Aging in the surrounding counties and retired from that position after over 20 years of service. Elaine truly enjoyed her work.
During her lifetime she was involved in many organizations and as a volunteer in 2002, Elaine was given the Outstanding Senior Citizen of Minnesota award. Elaine served as mayor of Grasston for 12 years.
In 1981 Elaine was united in marriage to Gilbert Lucht, and they resided in Grasston. They enjoyed traveling, dining out, dancing and just being together.
Other enjoyments of Elaine’s were singing with her group, karaoke, gardening, bird watching, her many friends and her grandchildren.
She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family prefers memorials to the Gilbert and Elaine Lucht Scholarship Fund in lieu of flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Evelyn Anderson, daughter-in-law Beverly Glidden, and husband Gilbert Lucht.
Elaine is survived by sons; Vincent Glidden (Darlyn), Darrell Glidden Jr. (Mary), Scott Glidden (Julie), Peter Glidden (Shelli); daughters, Kristin Metzger, Kathryn Glidden, Beth Rumpel, Sarah Foote (Shannon); step-sons Laurel Lucht, Lane Lucht and Lonny Lucht (Nancy); brother Donald Holmstrom (Mary), sister Norma Keacher. 25 grandchildren 5 great- grandchildren many nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday December 15, 2007 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Pine City, MN with Rev. Herman Bakker and Rev. Ron Boettner officiating. Music will be provided by Sheldon Nascene. Active pallbearers are Brandon Lucht, Tony Lucht, Diana Lucht, Molly Roll and Art Kottke. Honorary Pallbearers are, Toivo Glidden, Celestine Glidden, Lisa Stoffel, Amy Babcock, Ian Glidden, Erin Glidden, Kyle Glidden, Jared Glidden, Brent Glidden, Brea LeMon, Danielle Shockman, Emily Rumpel, Jestin Glidden, Jada Gavic, Sam Foote, Sonny Foote, Casey Lucht and Sully Lucht. Inurnment will be at Grasston Union Cemetery in Grasston, MN.
