PUBLIC VISITATION will be held from 2:00 – 5:00 PM SUNDAY with a prayer service at 5:00 PM at the Akkerman-Ingebrand Funeral Home in Mora. On Monday there will be a service at 11:00 AM at the Solid Rock Christian Church in Warman, MN. The service on Monday is reserved for Megan’s family and close friends. Interment will be at Pliny Cemetery in McGrath, MN.


Megan Amelia Engblom, age 16, of Mora, lost a courageous battle with leukemia on Thursday, November 8, 2007 at Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis, MN.

Megan was born on May 1, 1991 to Dave and Tina Engblom. She was the second of two daughters. Megan was a natural farm girl. She loved her horses, cows, rabbits, cats and dogs. Her passion to hunt included deer and bear and she also loved to ride on horseback. Her other hobbies included sewing and scrap booking with her cousin Rachel and Auntie Lynn.

Megan was a junior at Mora High School and was active in the FFA horse judging team. She was employed by Super Value in Isle as a cashier and loved her job because she had the opportunity to brighten everybody’s day.

Megan is survived by her parents, Dave and Tina Engblom of Mora; sister Sheila Engblom and special friend Orin Skramstad of Mora; grandparents Eric (Poppy) and Donna Nelson of Mora and many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.

The family would like to specifically thank all of the staff and doctors at Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis; they became like family to Megan.

Funeral services were held on Monday, November 12th at Warman Solid Rock Church. Pastor Harry Splittstoesser officiated. Pallbearers were Justin Linder, Brent Folkema, Orin Skramstad, Kevin Olson, Travis Nelson and Chad Gardner. Honorary pallbearers were Rollie Nelson, Dale Nelson and Greg Lukecart. Interment was at Pliny Cemetery in McGrath, Minnesota. Arrangements were handled by Akkerman Ingebrand Funeral Home of Mora.
