d-ostrowski.jpgDamon Ostrowski died on Ocotber 15, 2007 in Charlotte, North Carolina as a result of a motorcycle accident. He was 26 years old.

FUNERAL SERVICES will be held on Monday, October 22, 11:00 A.M. at Henriette Free Methodist Church in Henriette. VISITATION will be two hours prior to the service (from 9:00-11:00 A.M.) at the church. Rev. David Dwyer will officiate.


Damon Girard Ostrowski of Charlotte, North Carolina passed away on October 15, 2007 as a result of a motorcycle accident. Damon was 26 years old.

Damon was born November 16, 1980 in Mora, Minnesota to Beverly McKinnon and Dana Ostrowski. Damon lived with his mother Beverly and stepfather Pat Bankers in Grasston. He attended school in Pine City and the School for the Deaf in Fairbault, Minnesota. Damon left school after the 10th grade and began working as a mechanic. He taught himself and learned from others. In 2001 Damon met Grace Hill and they began dating. On February 9th of 2002 Damon’s daughter Skye was born. He was a very proud father and loved his daughter dearly.

Damon moved to North Carolina and met many new friends there and decided this was where he wanted to settle. He worked in Statesville as a diesel truck mechanic and also started his own mechanic shop. He loved his work and completely rebuilt several cars and trucks from the inside out. He recently worked for PeterBuilt as a mechanic. He was an accomplished mechanic and had several certifications in Diesel Mechanics.

Damon also worked on a pit crew at the race track in Charlotte. The crew he worked with was all his deaf friends. Damon had many passions in life. He and his friends got together almost every Sunday to play paint ball. Damon enjoyed hunting, fishing and just being outdoors. He also loved riding snowmobiles, motorcycles, and four wheelers. Damon loved animals and had several pets. He also enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a very kind loving person.

Damon will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Stan a& Shannon Ostrowski; two uncles Bob McKinnon & Mike Bankers; and two cousins Ella and Dusty.

Damon is survived by his daughter Sky Hill/Ostrowski of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; mother and stepfather Bev and Pat Bankers of Grasston; father Dana Ostrowski and Debbie Janousek of Mora; sisters Christine Daniels and Jessie Bankers; step-sisters Nicki and Jessica; grandparents Dwaine & Laverne McKinnon, and Kathleen Bankers; aunts Barb (Scott) Peterson, Bonnie McKinnon and Colleen Williams; uncles Steve Ostrowski, Mark (Rose) Bankers, Brad (Noel) McKinnon, Brent McKinnon; nephews Kyler & Tate Daniels; counsins Jamie, Jennifer, Onnalee, Olivia, Sadie, Christopher, Jake, Hannah, Brianna & Graden, Sada, Alyssa, Gina & Ryan; plus Damon’s North Carolina family John & Kathy Lufkin and sons Scott (Taria) Lufkin, Jason (Angie) Lufkin, and Andy Lufkin.

  1. I worked with Damon for a short time at Peterbilt Carolina. He was a really nice fellow to work with, always having a ready smile and contagious laugh. He will be missed here. He was also an excellent technician to work with.

    i am sending a messages from myself to him that i cannot presented myself, that i want to send out my everlasting respect for him and is very thankful for his willinginess in life, you will be rememebered in nonstopping branches of memories and timing. i send out my deepest respect, and also, Damon, THANK YOU. Wish we ll knew good. it will when the time comes. i send out my prayers to all of his family and especially skye, and grace hill or grace hill-alsteen, to the parents, im sorry for your losses and i am constantly praying for you. may the angels from the lord be with all of you. thank you endlessly to a big guy. im sorry if i m causing any inconvince but i d truly want to share my sympathies, everyones having a heart for it. all of you to be in the hand of lord to lead all of you in the pathway of time ahead. thank you. again, sorry if i am bothered the family but just want to share my feeling and understanding. thank you,
