James O. Stavig died Sunday, October 7 at his home in Mora. He was 73 years old.
MEMORIAL SERVICE will be at 11:00 AM, on Thursday October 11, 2007 at Rock – Ingebrand Funeral Home (120 S. Broadway Ave. Braham, MN) with gathering of family and friends one half hour prior to the service.
Jim was born on October 5, 1934 in Warren, Minnesota to James Olas
Stavig Sr. and Ethel Emelia (Hendrickson) Stavig. He served in the
Marine Corps from 1953 to 1956. He worked at the U.S. Postal Service
for 32 years. He is the second born of four children. He loved golf,
fishing, hunting, and training hunting dogs. He lived his life-long
dream of owning a hobby farm and raised several animals, including
horses, cows, ostrich, goats, sheep, pigs, turkeys, and many others! He
fought his battle with cancer very courageously. He will be truly
missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his youngest brother Marlow
He is survived by his wife Barbara Joy of Mora, Minnesota; children
David Stavig; Denise Stavig-Wells (Wes); Jamie Fast (Kathy), Jodi Gearou
(Bob), Danny Foss, Donny Foss (Kristy); oldest sister Marlene Hart;
younger sister Jan Liles (Al); ten grandchildren; several neices and
nephews; and many other loving family members
