Dale Lee Brown of Stanchfield, MN died on August 16, 2007 in St. Cloud, MN. He was 82 years old.

Dale Lee Brown was born September 8, 1924 in Elm Park, Minnesota to Mildred and Howard Brown. As a young man, Dale joined the Navy and served his country in WWII. He was awarded a Purple Heart for wounds suffered in battle aboard the USS SC744 on November 27, 1944. He then spent 11 months recuperating in a VA Hospital in Idaho. He met his future wife Joy (Swenson) in the Elm Park pickle patch. They were married March 6, 1950 in Mora, Minnesota. Dale worked as a machinist and truck driver for Dahlman’s Manufacturing in Braham, and in his free time enjoyed a good game of horseshoe and working in his big backyard garden. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Howard; and brothers Jim, Bill, Gerald, and Duane. Dale is survived by his wife, Joy; children, Jeff, Jennifer, Tim (Kenyon); grandson, Tanner; brothers, Francis and Gary; and sister Garnet (Tony) Olson.
