Sylvia Lindgren, of Dalbo, Minnesota, died on Friday, August 10, 2007 at her home. She was 69 years old.
FUNERAL SERVICE Tuesday, August 14th at 2:00 P.M. at Karmel Covenant Lutheran Church in Princeton, MN. VISITATION will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
Sylvia Marie Spiegelberg and twin sister Shirley were born December 9, 1937, in Green Valley Township, Becker County, Minnesota, to Arnold and Hilja (Marjamaa) Spiegelberg. In her early childhood, her family moved to St. Paul, Minnesota. Sylvia was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
She graduated from Washington High School, and then moved to Menahga, Minnesota, where she met and married Edwin Haverinen. Five children were born to this union. They were divorced in 1974.
Sylvia moved to Mora, Minnesota, and worked for Dahlman Manufacturing in Braham, Minnesota. She married Victor Lindgren on June 6, 1975, and the family moved to Dalbo. A daughter, DeAnna, was born in 1976. Sylvia was employed for the Cambridge State Hospital, where she worked for approximately 15 years. She was transferred to St. Paul, where she worked at Minnesota Care until she retired in 1999.
Sylvia enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, game shows, gardening and socializing with her many friends and neighbors. She will be lovingly remembered as a kind and caring person to family and friends alike.
Sylvia is survived by her husband, Victor, of Dalbo; 2 sons, Jonathan (Jay) Haverinen and his wife Mary of Dalbo, and Steven and his wife Glenda of Princeton; 2 daughters, Janis (Susie) Larson and her husband Kenneth (Butch) of Menahga, and DeAnna Biniek and her fiance Jay Kohl of Mora, Minnesota; 4 sisters, Gloria Bangert of Edgewater, Colorado, Anita Bennett of Cottonwood, Arizona, Shirley Mitchell of Harris, Minnesota, and LaVera Larson of Iron, Minnesota; grandchildren: Megan Holcomb of Stillwater, Minnesota; Jesse Larson and his wife Stephanie of Wadena, Minnesota; Heidi Haverinen of Dalbo; Casey, Sydney and Samantha Haverinen of Princeton; and Brandi and John Kohl of Mora; and 2 great-grandchildren, Aiden and Isabelle Larson of Wadena. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Daniel Haverinen; one daughter, Lorie Stromberg; a granddaughter, Kally Haverinen; and 3 sisters, LaVonne Cullifer, Jolene Koski, and Rochelle Johnson.
