Oscar Krebs, of Pine City, died on June 10, 2007 at Lakeside Nursing Home in Pine City. He was 95 years old.
FUNERAL SERVICE Wednesday, June 13 at 1:00 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Finlayson, MN. Visitation will be from 11:30-1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the church.
Oscar Fredrick Krebs was born on November 30, 1911 in Marshall, Minnesota to parents Carl and Martha (Kaisel) Krebs. Oscar was fifteen years old when he moved to McGrath. He attended a country school near their farm. He was confirmed in 1927 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Giese. As a young man he worked on farms in Wells and Blue Earth, Minnesota. He bought a Model T and later returned to McGrath where he stayed with his parents. He helped with the family farm, taking over when his parents retired. Oscar and his brothers helped each other out with haying and shared a lot of the machinery. Oscar was a member of the William Township Board and also an active member of the Peace Lutheran Church of Finlayson. Oscar sold the farm in April of 1977 and moved to Sandstone. In 2001 Oscar moved to the Lakeside Nursing Home in Pine City, where he lived until his passing on June 10, 2007. Oscar was 95 years old.
He is survived by his brother August Krebs Sr. of Pine City, sister Anna Mattson of St. Paul, nieces and nephews Margaret (Paul) Deal, Martha (Harold) Mueller, Carlene (Albert) Boettcher, Shirley (Marlyn) Eklund, Pamela (Gary) Rower, Naomi (Donald) Gustafson, Rebecca Tschida, James (Sheila) Krebs, John Krebs, Greg Krebs, Rachel Krebs, Marilyn (Mark) Alleman, Michael (Denise) Krebs, Ruth Freeman, and Delores Hoseth.
Oscar is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Carl and Albert, sisters Metha and Frieda, nephews August Jr. and Carl, nieces Joanne Pautsch and Bernice Schoenrock.
