Richard “Rich” Dale died on Sunday, May 13, 2007 at his home. He was 63 years old.
FUNERAL SERVICES Thursday, May 17th, 2:00 P.M. at Grace Lutheran Church in Mora. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, May 16th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Richard Frank Dale was born in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1944 to Theresa (Ellens) and Vernon Dale. When he was four years old the family moved to Mora where Rich attended elementary and high school; graduating from Mora High in 1962. Right after graduation he joined the U.S. Army and served for 3 years, stationed in Germany for two of those years. After returning home from the Army he attended Meat Cutters School in Pipestone, Minnesota; a profession he worked at until he retired in 2004. He married Diane Fore on July 11, 1970.
Rich always enjoyed doing yard work and cutting up deer (venison). He loved to spend time in his garage, woodworking, and sitting down by his fire pit. Rich was never at a loss for words. He loved to visit with people.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Diane; brothers Gerald and wife Barb of Fifty Lakes, MN, Melvin and wife Pat of Plymouth, MN, Robert and wife Loretta of Anchorage, Alaska, John and wife Peg of Zimmerman, MN; sister Judy Hoene and friend Roy of Burnsville, MN; children Chris Orr, Troy Watrin and Tracy Watrin; father-in-law Vernon Fore of Mora; plus many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law; other relatives and his cat ‘Sammy’. He was preceded in death by his parents Vernon and Theresa Dale; mother-in-law Dorothy Fore; and brother-in-law Jack Hoene.
