Evangeline Rosemarie Zaun died at her home in rural Brook Park, Minnesota on May 3, 2007. She was 90 years old.
FUNERAL SERVICE will be on Monday, May 7 at 11:00 A.M. at St. George’s Episcopal Church, 5224 Minnetonka Blvd., St. Louis Park, MN. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 6 from 2:00-4:00 P.M. at Akkerman-Ingebrand Chapel in Mora, and also one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
Evangeline Rosemarie Zaun was born on October 29, 1916 in New Prague, Minnesota to James and Marie (Novotny) Neubauer, Evangeline was the third of four siblings. At the age of 16 she married the love of her life, Edward Adolf Zaun. Together they had 8 children, embarked on business ventures together, and experienced all the joys of life. In the 1970’s Evangeline & Edward moved to Brook Park where they built a home and shared many happy moments with family & friends. Evangeline enjoyed spending time with her family, writing poetry, reading cookbooks, playing the piano, collecting bells, playing cards and embroidery. She always enjoyed her home, the woods surrounding it and the frequent visits from a variety of wildlife.
Evangeline was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters and a brother; husband Edward Zaun; son Gilbert Zaun; granddaughter Sherri Fischer; grandson Thomas Zaun Jr.; & great-grandson Mickey Zaun. She is survived by children Edward Zaun Jr. (Carol), Thomas Zaun (Roxy), Arthur Zaun (Kathy), Jeanette Grzesiak (Jerry), Linda Rolland (Steve), Evangeline (Ginger) Welker (Michael), & Audrey Zaun; daughter-in-law Bonnie Zaun; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; & 3 great great-grandchildren.
