TUNNEY LEPINSKI
Tunney Lepinski of rural Princeton, formerly of the Stanchfield area, passed on Sunday, June 14. He was 71 years old.
A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 18th at the Stanchfield Baptist Church with Rev Dale Cope and Pastor Paul Reynolds presiding. VISITATION will be from 6-8pm on Wednesday, June 17th at the Rock Ingebrand Funeral Home in Braham, and 1 hour prior to the service at church. INTERMENT will be in the Stanchfield Baptist Cemetery.
Tunney Ray Lepinski, of Princeton, formerly of Stanchfield, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2009 from ALS at his daughter and son-in-law’s home. He was 71 years old.
Tunney was born on November 11, 1937 to parents Michael and Darlene (Crawford) Lepinski in St. Paul, Minnesota. Tunney attended school through the 8th grade and continued this education at the Bricklayer’s School in St. Paul. In December of 1954, Tunney enlisted in the United States Army where he served overseas in France and Germany.
On February 15, 1958, Tunney was united in marriage to Doris Mae Bittner in Maplewood, MN. Together they made a home in Oakdale, and later in Stanchfield. Tunney worked as a Stone Mason with the union local #1, and independently with his brother Mike Lepinski. After retirement Tunney and Doris lived in Finlayson for a few years, but due to declining health, moved to Princeton to be closer to family.
Tunney had many hobbies including hunting, fishing, woodworking, landscaping and tending to his gardens, and watching Fox news and the Nascar races. Tunney also was an accomplished steel guitar player and loved to play for his family and friends. Tunney was a long time member of the Stanchfield Baptist Church. He served as a trustee, a greeter and usher, and enjoyed attended Bible Studies. He especially liked reading the book of Revelation. Tunney will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends.
Tunney is preceded in death by his parents, infant son Ronnie Ray, and great grandson Brady Melberg.
He is survived by his loving wife Doris, beloved dog Fifi, daughters Darla (Roger) Halverson of Princeton, Brenda (Robert) Voss of Cambridge, Julie (Randy) Stromberg of Mora; brothers Mike (Barb) of Oakdale, Hank (Ginny) of Oakdale, Jerry (Diane) of Stillwater, and Doug of Princeton; sister Debbie Lepinski; grandchildren Lisa (Jeremy) Melberg, Dan (Jenny) Halverson, David (Samantha) Halverson, Caleb Halverson, Gina Voss, Tony Voss, Michael Voss, Jennifer Lepinski, Jessica Joshi, Joshua Stromberg, Tabatha Stromberg, Randy Jr. Stromberg, and Shane Stromberg; great grandchildren Ally and Connor Melberg, Madeyson Halverson, Alexis Lepinski, Jadyn Joshi, Awan and Izaya Stromberg; Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Funeral Service was held on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at the Stanchfield Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Cope presiding. Casket bearers were Bob Pilantz, Jeremy Melberg, Dan Halverson, David Halverson, Michael Voss, and Tony Voss. Military Honors were provided by the Cambridge American Legion Post #290. Interment was in the Stanchfield Baptist Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Rock Ingebrand Funeral Home of Braham
Tunney was such a blessing to all. We will miss him so much! It is comforting to know he knew Jesus as his Savior and is with him in heaven.
We miss our dad and father in law so much. We are glad we took care of him over the years. I know someday we will see him in Heaven again.Dad we will take care of mom always.Some days I have bad days, but I must keep my focus on Jesus and my family that will get me thru this saddness.
Tunney was my grandpa and I miss seeing and talking to him. Ally his great grandaughter misses him so much. Ally talks about him all the time and wants to go to the funeral to see g. grandpa… But I know grandpa is up in heaven holding my little baby brady and someday I will see them both and what a great day that will be..

Grandpa in one week it will be your 1 yr of you leaving us. I think of you often and miss you so much. I had a baby girl on May 18, 2010. She is healthy!! Her name is Haley Rae. I gave her your middle name. Ally is well Ally lol. She misses you to. Love you so much and cant wait to see you again. Love, Lisa
