Although we knew him not long, the following poem seems to represent the man. God Bless keep you all.
A True Story of A Real Man
© By Nichole L. Johnson

A man that made an impression on strangers and friends.
Quiet but firm and even more stern.
Strength and courage I have learned from you, but being without you is hard to do.
A man with pride in every step he made.
A man with vigor in every phrase.

The tears I’ve shed cannot surpass the smiles and the laughs we had with you.
To feel your pain I could not do, to feel your joy I cannot explain, but being without is hard to do.
A man with pride in every step he made.
A man with vigor in every phrase.

A man that defined the word grand as only a real man can.
To know you’re in a better place soothes my pain.
Knowing you’re watching over me makes me sane.
A man with pride in every step he made.
A man with vigor in every phrase.

A true story of a real man, who in the end held his family together as only a real man can.
My grandfather, a man with poise.
You were a husband, father, uncle, cousin, grandfather, friend, and the epitome of a real man.

Dear Darlene and Family,
Kathy Nelson alerted us to Bob's passing. (She saw the obituary in the paper.) Many memories of the times on 82nd St in Brooklyn Park. Please accept our sincere sympathies at this difficult time.

Aunt Darlene, David and Danny,
May you find peace in the memories or your husband, partner, father and friend. I will miss Uncle Bob greatly and cherish the quite times we had to talk and I will take his advise to heart one being be true to yourself and the other enjoy all you can. Uncle Bob was respected very much and a fabulous story and joke teller - the tears of laughter at many of his jokes will go unmatched.
I send loving hugs to all of you during this difficult time.
Always,
Desiree

Aunt Darlene, Cousins David & Danny ~
Like the song says, "Only the good die young". As a child I always loved to watch Uncle Bob and Aunt Darlene dance, as I got older I came to know the wisdom Uncle Bob possessed, and as an adult I realized what a wonderful friend, father and husband he was. Our family was blessed with his kind spirit and bright smile. Uncle Bob earned much respect in his lifetime and will always be loved.

Stay strong,
Love,
Debby
